And the main message I'm receiving from voters - over and over and over again - is:
"that 'the basics' have been badly neglected in Forth over the last 18-months!"
What people are saying is pretty straightforward:
- the streets are in a real mess, with litter and weeds the worst that most people can remember them locally
- local roadworks are not being co-ordinated and are being poorly managed
- there needs to be more of a police presence on 'the beat' and more imaginary ways of keeping peace on our streets
- housing and education needs to be given a higher 'local' priority (with Granton Primary and Royston/Wardieburn Community Centre being mentioned specifically)
I've pledged to prioritise all of these areas - none of them are rocket-science and the current SNP/Lib-Dem Council is failing to address them effectively.
Please don't reward failure when you vote on Thursday.
